About
We! the People
We!
the People is the web magazine [webzine] of WeDemocrats.org
- the Voice of WeDemocrats.org. WeDemocrats and its voice, We! The
People, want to change how people get their news and how they choose
the candidates they vote for. WeDemocrats, and We! The People, are
a unique coordination of netroots and grassroots and focus on the
presentation of progressive ideas
WeDemocrats
support fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates
at all levels of office across the country. We direct the power
of our grassroots network to get these candidates elected and to
work towards positive change from the bottom up. We are a nation
of more than one Party. By definition that will sometimes mean fighting
and major disagreements. That is democracy. Out of discussion can
come agreement. Believe it or not, the values of Democrats and Republicans
are fundamentally the same -- governance and law, learning and education,
health care and environment. On some level they are a concern to
all of us.
WeDemocrats.org
respects our differences and recognizes that America needs all of
our viewpoints, ideas, and passions -- even those we don't agree
with -- to keep our democracy vital and alive. WeDemocrats recognizes
that dialogue can build trust, understanding, respect, and empowerment
-- the conditions necessary for freedom and democracy.
The
purpose of WeDemocrats is to initiate a new kind of public conversation
that moves us beyond polarization so we can effectively address
the issues we care about. We believe all concerned Americans have
a piece of the answer and that listening to and learning from each
other -- even if difficult -- will make our country stronger and
wiser.
WeDemocrats,
individually and as a group, commit ourselves and our communities
to fostering dialogue across the many divides in America to build
trust, insight, and action.
WeDemocrats.org
is a 527 organization, which primarily focuses on nonpartisan education
and advocacy on important national issues.
